Interview with Schlette

Schlette Monique King is from Brooklyn New york. She went to Brooklyn College for two years.She did not graduate because she got pregnant,but her desire is to go back to school. She attended a trade school for Medical Administration at the Chubb Institute. Schlette wanted to learn the administration part of the health care. She became interested after working in an Ambulatory department for six years. She been in the hospital for 10 years and in her current department for 11 months .Her job title is Health Information Management Associate.

Schlette's Duties

• Securing patient information


• Assembling


• Chart retrieval


• Use different computer systems to search and store information.

So far,the challenges has been to gain knowledge of the new and upcoming system said Schlette.To her the best part of her job is that she is able to learn new things and grow. The only thing she would change is the salary and maybe a few co-workers .Before working at medical recordcenter,she worked in the ambulatory surgery department as a clerk.She worked there for six years.Schlette said she does enjoy her work but would like to open her own business one day and see herself in a management position.With me being in Medical Record,I helped her day to flow a little more smoothly and caused her to accomplish more in her work day. Some pieces of advice that Schlette gave me was to work hard, stay focuse,go to college and obtain all the knowledge and DON'T GET PREGNANT early because it would change your life somehow .
