Midpoint Reflection

At first I thought I was going to be working with little children but I am at the medical record department. Internship have not really change. I am now familiar with everything because I do the same thing over and over. Something that is different at the workplace from school is that, at the hospital ID needs to be easily observable in a area above the waist and people are dressed professionally.But in both, hospital and school you socialise with other. I don't really learned new skills, just that some day I try to do the work a little bit faster because I don't like starting with something that I left the day before. I am not a talkative person. When I enter the room I say hi to everyone and I get busy. If I don't understand something I ask the person to repeat himself or if I don't have anything to do I don't just sit there. I always ask for something that need to be done. There isn't any challenges, just that I'm really tired after internship and feel like sleeping but I have to do my homework. Dealing with internship and school at the same time is overwealming . Too much to think of, to much to handle.There are three more weeks until internship is over. I would like to complete all my hours,I don't want any problems that will make me fail the class. During these day I learned a lot about New York City. Transportation can be one of the example. I also meet different faces in the street, people that looks weird to me, normal people, old people young people...New York is one of the busy city that exist on earth,it is a big urban area.

A little piece of paper that was attached on a patient medical record.

Neurology: The science of the nerves and the nervous system.
This word was on top of a folder that contain patient medical record.

Orthopaedic: The branch of surgery broady concerned with the skeletal system (bones)

Fourth week =[

Things are not working out well for me. I have not been to my internship site on the 4th week. At the hospital they said I can't keep coming in without an ID. In order to get it, I need to complete my medical clearance and obtain results of PPD reading .

Starting internship

On the first week when every other kids started I did not get to go to my internship site because my mentor was not ready for me she was out of town.Instead I did not want to be behind so I make up some hour working at school. I actually went to my intrnship site Tuesday march 3, 2009. I work at N.Y.U Hospital for Joint Diseases in 301 East 17th Street, New York NY 10 003. I work from 1 to 5 and what I do is filing the medical record of the patient. I arranged them in order by looking at the last two number of the MR# starting from 00 to 99. It's not difficult but I get tired, my back , legs and shoulder hurts.When I seat to much and decide to stand for a little while now my legs began to hurt. All in all, the people are really nice and they threat me with respect... :-)
